Jackie Mays is named after our founder’s wife and son (nicknames “May” and “Jackson”) and as a subtle tribute to Jackie Robinson and Willie Mays, for breaking barriers.

Humble Beginnings

Born between the pristine Sierra Nevada mountains and the majestic Pacific Ocean, our founder grew up with a love of the outdoors. His first paid job was as a dishwasher and he worked his way up in many restaurants. His passion for sustainability translated into his career in clean technology and an appreciation for wholesome foods.

With a desire to make the greatest impact, he set out to break new barriers and create an original franchise with the best tasting, climate-friendly, and cruelty-free foods.
